"Appropriate Attire"

Please follow these clothing guidelines unless otherwise is specified.

  • Helmets - Everyone must wear one! It is preferred that each student purchase their own proper helmet for proper fit and hygiene.
  • No sneakers! No open toed shoes of any kind.
  • English riding breeches (1/2 inch heel) should be worn once you begin to trot. However, you may wear jeans and half chaps if you prefer.
  • Boots - Use of boots is recommended for equestrian related activities.
  • Western students may wear jeans and boot with 1/2 inch heel.
  • Shirts must be tucked in and no baggy clothes are allowed.
  • Girls - Hair should be in a braid, bun, or ponytail, low on the neck and centered.
  • Gloves are not required, but in addition to keeping your hands warm in cold weather, they make reins easier to grip and prevent blistering any time of the year.
